So, how was the flight? How is it? Are we settling? You all ask. Well the flight was a breeze thanks to the exhaustion of a 6 hour delay from the ash cloud and the physical emotional drain of the gruelling airport 'goodbyes'. But one day of admin and the acquisition of new sim cards (the ultimate lifeline) and skype and 'voila' all is well with the world and we are saying hello everyone - it is as we said it would be - 'this is not goodbye...' Actually, you can expect to hear much more from us now that we have realised and learnt the 'real' and hard life lesson of what it means to take the small but BIG things for granted - spending time with our peeps.
At this moment it all still seems surreal and as if we are on holiday. Strange as it seems but true. Exactly how can reality bite, when we are currently living in 5 star B&B luxury (thanks to my sis and bil - who is kev by the way) and being chauffeur driven to all the hotspots within the city with a guaranteed nap on the way back home. Travel fatigue - it'll get you everytime - these peeps speed limits literally put you to sleep and they stick to them - haha!!!
So, what have we achieved in 5 days? Well, we are gaining good ground with my lil nephew on the whole bff thing, got a whole bunch of admin sorted (medical, bank cards etc.), scoped out a few hoods from Northern Suburbs through to the city, we have eaten out everyday at a different foodcourt, new takeaway chain, been to the beach twice - balmoral and dee why, checked out possible cabbies for us to cruise around in, done a 'small' grocery shop and even started looking into gyms, which is a bit of a dilemma at this point - distance vs warmness (for me that is - I'm used to 5 minute convenience).
All in all - not too shabby for beginners. Now that we got this moving I am hoping to post at least a pic a day and a brief (I'll try my best) snippet of what we have done so we can take you along our journey to greatness facing our fears and challenging our own personal boundaries as we discover and uncover the possiblitiy of opportunity.
Stay close.
